IIN presents Fifteenth Report on SEC to the Secretary General

 

In compliance with the Resolution of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) AG/RES. 1667 (XXIX-O/99) of June 7, 1999, the Inter-American Children’s Institute (IIN) presents Fifteenth Report to the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, on measures taken by Member States to prevent and eradicate Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (SEC) in the Americas.

 

Through this report, the IIN sets out the status of the issue in the region 20 years after the 1st World Congress against Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (Stockholm, 1996).

 

The preparation of the Report is one of the activities carried out within the framework of the Inter-American Programme for the Prevention and Eradication of Child Commercial Sexual Exploitation and Illegal Trafficking.
