Second International Meeting on the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation of Children in the context of Travel and Tourism

 

On October 7, 2015 the IIN participated in the «Second International Meeting on the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation of Children in the context of Travel and Tourism», organized by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, in the city of Bogota, Colombia.

 

The activity was held at the Tequendama International Center and was attended by representatives of different public, private, national and international and academic entities. The Institute was represented by the Director General, Victor Giorgi, who gave spoke about «motivations and behaviors of different stakeholders in the tourism sector in relation to Sexual Exploitation», and Lic. Alejandra Di Pierro, Coordinator of the Interamerican Cooperation Program on the Prevention and Eradication of Sexual Exploitation, Trafficking and Trafficking of Children and Adolescents, who participated in the Panel of Experiences presenting about «Prevention of the Sexual Commercial Exploitation in the context of Travel and Tourism – International Organizations and Civil Society».

 

Also during the 8th of October, both participated as observers of the Eighth Annual Meeting of the Regional Action Group of the Americas (GARA), which was attended by delegates from Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay and Costa Rica (as an observer).
