Strong Ideas. A dialogue with the academy

Key Ideas: Rights of children and adolescents.

A dialogue with the academy

As part of the celebration for its 95th anniversary, the Inter-American Institute for Children and Adolescents (IIN) of the OAS promotes a series of virtual conversations open to the public on various topics related to the rights of children and adolescents.

The “Key Ideas” cycle will feature presentations by specialized technicians from the IIN, and will have as its counterpart the participation of researchers and academics linked to various universities in the American continent.

The purpose of these instances of dialogue is to generate articulation between the different actions carried out by the IIN based on technical assistance for the design and implementation of public policies, studies of regulatory frameworks, and identification of «significant experiences» with the academic perspective; and establish a bond of mutual cooperation between the organization and the educational community.

The thematic axes of these meetings will be Models of Care, Human Mobility, Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents, Digital Citizenship and Childhood in the Caribbean.

Each meeting, which will be developed on the Zoom platform and replicated on Facebook LIVE, will last approximately 1:30 hours and an instance of questions will be enabled for the general public.
