New edition of the IINfancia Bulletin

New edition of the IINfancia Bulletin

The Inter-American Children’s Institute (IIN) of the OAS presents the 14th edition of the IINfancia Bulletin.

As in every semester, the publication of this bulletin seeks to bring together multiple perspectives and approaches to the complex issue of children, adolescents and their rights in the Americas, addressed by multiple actors: academics, policy makers, technicians and operators.

This periodical publication seeks to rescue the original spirit of the organization’s Bulletin, issued since its foundation in 1927, through a series of adjustments and redefinitions that allow for the exchange of valuable information on the rights of children and adolescents.

The two annual editions of the IINfancia Bulletin coincide with significant dates for children: June 9, commemorating the founding of the IIN and the Day of Children and Adolescents of the Americas declared by the OAS; and November 20, celebrating the approval of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the United Nations.

The fourteenth volume of this publication contains 10 articles on a wide range of topics, written by prominent authors and leaders in the rights of children and adolescents.

Among these approaches are reflections on educational challenges, public policies for children and adolescents and state duties; reflections on the right of children and adolescents to effective judicial protection, masculinities and fatherhood at an early age, unaccompanied migrant children and adolescents, challenges to the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, child and adolescent participation, and background information on the Inter-American Children’s Institute.
