Inter-American Meeting on Corporal Punishment against Children
With the purpose of generating a space for the analysis of challenges and exchange of good practices to end corporal punishment against children in the region, the Government of Mexico, the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations on Violence against Children, the Rapporteurship on the Rights of Children of the IACHR, the Latin American and Caribbean Network for the defense of the rights of children, UNICEF and the IIN, convene the Inter-American Meeting on Corporal Punishment against Children, which will be held on April 25 and 26 in Mexico City.
The Director General of the IIN, Víctor Giorgi, presents a model norm to ban corporal punishment against children in all areas of their life.
The invitation extends to the Member States of the OAS, specialists, representatives of international organizations, civil society organizations and academia, in order to move towards the transformation of traditional attitudes and generate positive cultural changes.
