Conectad@s Project Workshops in Central America States and the Dominican Republic
With the objective of strengthening the capacities of the authorities responsible for protecting children’s in Central America and the Dominican Republic by providing them with tools for the digital inclusion of childrens, the Organization of American States (OAS), begins a series of workshops in the framework of the project «Guidelines for the empowerment and protection of the rights of children and adolescents on the Internet in Central America and the Dominican Republic» – Conectad@s.
Through the Technical Team of the Secretariat for Access to Rights and Equity (SADyE), the Inter-American Children’s Institute (IIN), the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), of the States of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama and the Dominican Republic – participating States – the OAS develops these workshops aimed at children, adolescents between 12 and 17 and adults working in organizations related with children and adolescents.
This project will identify the digital gap that exists in each one of the participant States to determine how to overcome it, agree on a series of recommendations and commitments to ensure the strengthening of the capacities of the authorities responsible for ensuring the protection of children and adolescents in the access and use of the internet.
These intergenerational activities were carried out during the month of may in each of the participating countries.
