The 98th Meeting of the Directing Council of the IIN concludes in El Salvador
The Inter-American Children’s Institute of the OAS concluded its 98th Regular Meeting of the Directing Council in San Salvador, El Salvador.
After three days full of activities in the framework of the XXIII Congress and 4th Pan American Forum on Children and Adolescents, the representatives of the States in the field of children exchanged on the actions of the organization in the last year.
At the same time, the Resolution XXIII Congress and 4th Pan American Forum was approved, which brings together multiple recommendations derived from the exchanges at these meetings as well as in the preparatory meetings for the 4th Pan American Forum, in which groups of children and adolescents from different IIN delegations, networks and groups, as well as civil society, participated.
Thus, the Directing Council of the IIN resolves in this resolution to affirm the commitment of the Member States to the promotion and protection of the rights of children in early childhood, recognizing their importance in the sustainable development of society; to generate healthy mental health environments for children and adolescents by strengthening community spaces, promoting barrier-free access to mental health services when required, and encouraging their participation in the Americas; and propose the adoption of public policies with a focus on guaranteeing and respecting human rights and solid regional cooperation among the States to guarantee minimum protection conditions for children and adolescents at all stages of their mobility in the region.
Finally, Honduras was approved as the host country for the 99th Regular Meeting of the Directing Council.
