Organizational child protection: IIN-OAS and Keeping Children Safe sign agreement to strengthen it
The Inter-American Children’s Institute of the OAS (IIN-OAS) and Keeping Children Safe (KCS) have signed an agreement to strengthen organizational child protection in the Americas. This agreement aims to strengthen the organizations’ commitments, policies and procedures to prevent and protect children and adolescents from the risks of violence, abuse and exploitation.

Keeping Children Safe is an international organization specializing in organizational child protection. It sets international standards to help organizations protect children from abuse, and works with child survivors of violence, researchers, practitioners, policy makers and leaders to advocate for the right of children to be safe in all organizations, regardless of size or power.
Collaboration with the IIN-OAS, a leading organization in the development of public policy on the rights of children and adolescents in the Americas, is key to achieving the proposed objectives.

Since 2023, the organizations have worked together on disseminating resources on organizational child protection, participating in KCS international summits, International Organizational Child Protection Week 2024, and carrying out various activities focused on child safety.
The new agreement seeks to deepen this collaboration and broaden its impact, driving the development of new research, the creation of innovative resources and the promotion of best practices throughout the region.
