Workshop with staff members of the Human Rights Procurator´s office of El Salvador

Together with the Human Rights Procurator’s office of El Salvador, a workshop was held in San Salvador for the purpose of implementing the “Performance Protocol for Ombudsmen for Children”. This activity was included within the framework of the project “Promotion and Support for the Development of Ombudsmen for Children”, which is carried out by the IIN with financing from the Spanish Agency for International Development (AECID).

During the workshop, which led to the drafting of a guide for the implementation of the Protocol, the Costa Rican Ombudsman for the Inhabitants of the Republic shared its Model for Monitoring Compliance with the Childhood Code. This workshop will be implemented in Peru on 11- 12 October with participation of staff from the People´s Ombudsman of that country.

The IIN project “Promotion and Support for the Development of Ombudsmen for Children” has enabled it since 2009 to provide technical support to the national human rights institutions (Ombudsman) of 14 States of the region in order to strengthen the capacities of the relevant offices and departments for defending and promoting children´s rights (Ombudsmen for Children and Adolescents).
