The IIN presents its annual report to the Permanent Council of the OAS
The President of the Inter-American Children’s Institute, Lic. Zaira Navas presented last April 23 Annual Report to the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States met in Washington, D.C.
Accompanied by the Director of the IIN-OEA, Lic. Victor Giorgi, the work stood out of the IIN-OAS whit the member states, development of the Action Plan 2011-2015 and the results of the XXI Pan American Child and Adolescent Congress, held last 10 to 12 December in Brasilia, Brazil. Likewise the experience of the Second Forum of children and adolescents as well as input from civil society is shared.
During your visit to Washington authorities IIN-OAS met with Ambassador Albert Ramdin, Assistant Secretary General of the OAS, who expressed interest in the work done at the Institute and emphasized the need to work more closely with countries Caribbean. Also they had meetings with Ms. Jane Tery, Director of International Affairs, Amb. Francisco Lainez, Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the OAS, Amb. Hugo Cayrus, Permanent Representative of Uruguay to the OAS, among others.
The Inter-American Children’s Institute IIN, this 2015 work on the new Action Plan 2016-2020 with the horizon to strengthen the regional role of the institution and contribute to the development of comprehensive policies in favor of children. It will give special attention to its relationship with the rest of the OAS in around 3 strategic pillars defined in this sense: Democratic Consolidation; Human rights, integral development and multidimensional security.
