Promotion of children’s rights in the Caribbean
Promotion of children’s rights in the Caribbean
In the framework of the 30 years of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), the Caribbean States, together with civil society organizations and international organizations, meet to take stock of the advancement of children’s rights in the region, including challenges and prospects.
The high-level Conference, within the framework of the International Day for the Rights of the Child (11/20) and Human Rights Day (12/10), focuses on children and adolescents as subjects of law.
The objective of the meeting, which will be held on December 7 by the Zoom platform, is to raise awareness and identify relevant opportunities to strengthen the implementation and acceptance of the rights of children and adolescents in the Caribbean and detect the challenges faced by States in the implementation of the CRC and in reporting at the regional and international levels.
The event is the first step to bring together relevant actors in the Caribbean, as well as regional and international actors, and identify how international human rights mechanisms can promote the advancement of children’s rights in the region.
